Social Ministry
Mrs. Pearl Dupart
The Food Pantry is open two days a week Tuesdays Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We have volunteers to assist in the pantry. We never send anyone away empty-handed.
Recently we had a press conference with the help of three other churches in our community to help us get our neighborhoods back!
We want the nuisance businesses, abandoned cars, and abandoned houses out of our community. We have asked for foot patrols by the
police department so they have an eye on the people and get to know who belongs, who doesn't and who is doing the negative activity.
We requested cameras in two areas so that when people come to worship, they can feel safe.
HOT SPOT sheets are available through the church or the parish office to report anything negative tha you see. With your help, we can improve our Quality of Life. Don't blame others if you don't take part
in cleaning up your neighborhood.
Parish Council
Dear Church Family,
I am honored to serve as the new Presiding Officer of the St. Peter Claver Parish Council for the term 2007 through 2010.
I assure you that all 22 of us who serve on the Council will prayerfully work together to move our church forward, as we face the many challenges of recovery and growth after Katrina.
On behalf of the Council, I am asking each member of the church for two things. First, to prayerfully consider how you can be of service in the coming year. If we each commit to doing something small, we will together accomplish great things.
Secondly, and most importantly, we need prayers. Pray that God will inspire in all of us, an expanded vision, a growing commitment, and a unity of purpose, so that together we can continue to build and glorify His church.
Sincerely, Sylivia Robinson
